The worst of Parker

Having watched him for this long, we certainly know Parker’s faults as well as if they were able to be spotted on the back of our hands.

Of course, those flaws primarily show on the defensive end of the floor and there were numerous moments where Parker’s defensive deficiencies were on full display, even under his limited season.

It goes far beyond Parker’s lack of defensive awareness and discipline, as exerting a full effort in guarding his assignment is a rare sight to see and it’s legitimately refreshing when Parker consistently competes on that side of the floor (i.e. the first half of Game 4 in the Bucks’ first round series with the Boston Celtics).

But as much as he still brims with potential as an offensive spark in some capacity, Parker’s nagging habit to float and fade on the floor if he’s not featuring in plays/sets is equally frustrating to watch.

Perhaps that’s a byproduct of all the time he’s missed due to injury, which has diminished his feel for the game as well as the tried habits that were practiced under the team’s former coaching regime, but Parker hasn’t helped himself on that end, despite his offensive capabilities.
