The worst of Dellavedova

Between the regular season and playoffs, the Bucks played 89 games in their 2017-18 campaign. Dellavedova was available for just under half of those as he played in 44 games.

Dellavedova played in the season’s first 13 games before coming down with left knee tendinitis. Originally expected to come back relatively quickly, Dellavedova ultimately missed 15 games and just over a month with his ailing knee.

Upon his return, Dellavedova enjoyed a concerted 25-game spell of health, before suffering a severe ankle sprain on the road against the Brooklyn Nets in a game that also saw Giannis Antetokounmpo and John Henson pick up injuries.

In short, Dellavedova never gave himself a chance to find a real rhythm and finally play his way into form as a Buck.

While he was healthy, although Dellavedova’s shooting improved from three-point range following a season-worst deep shooting season in 2016-17, the Australian still failed to crack the kind of highly efficient marks he once achieved in Cleveland.
