NBA Draft 2018 Prospect Watch: Jerome Robinson
Strengths
Considering he finished this season as the second-highest scorer of all players in the ACC behind Duke’s Marvin Bagley Jr., Robinson is an incredibly potent scorer from all three levels of the court.
Although Robinson has always been capable of filling it up, the biggest difference throughout his junior season was improving on his efficiency by leaps and bounds as he finished with sterling shooting splits of .485/.409/.830 on 20.7 points per game, giving him a 60.8 true shooting percentage.
It’s one thing for the now-former Eagle to have an incredibly polished scoring ability entering the league, but the fact that’s he equally capable of being a threat with and without the ball in his hands shows he can be utilized in a myriad of ways when on the floor.
In addition to his scoring prowess, Robinson is a very fluid athlete and while he doesn’t possess overwhelming hops, he’s good for sending home acrobatic finishes or rising above the rim to throw down a thunderous dunk on occasion.
Lastly, Robinson’s shot creation extends beyond manufacturing opportunities for himself, as he can function well when tasked with operating in pick-and-roll situations. With that said, Robinson did notch a 1.35 assist-to-turnover ratio over his three seasons in Chestnut Hill, so there’s room to grow and tighten his handle as well as work out his decision-making when making plays for others.
