Salary

Harris’ skill-set is incredibly valuable with the current shape of the NBA, and coming off the back of a strong season, he’s guaranteed for a major pay rise.

Having earned just $1.5 million last year in Brooklyn, Harris will likely not only see his salary increase multiple times over, but also gain the kind of security that he couldn’t have dreamed of when his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers came to an end a couple of years ago.

According to Mike Scotto of The Athletic:

"“The Nets swingman will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and is expected to receive a hefty pay raise. According to eight NBA executives, who spoke to The Athletic on the condition of anonymity, Harris could command anywhere from $4 million to $7 million annually this summer.”"

As the Nets are one of the few teams in the NBA with meaningful cap space this summer, that range of offers doesn’t necessarily suggest a return to Brooklyn is going to be off the cards for Harris.

It would be a surprise if multiple teams weren’t interested in his services, though, and that could lead to enough leverage for Harris to earn up to the higher end of that range or beyond in terms of a full mid-level exception.
