2. Bob Dandridge

Bob Dandridge was not the best player of the Bucks’ single championship winning team by any means, but he was the key cog that made everything tick around Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson.

Dandridge was an exceptionally skilled and versatile wing who acted as a defensive stalwart for the Bucks, while also starring as a near 20 point per game scorer.

Considering the Bucks only managed to get over the edge to earn a ring once in spite of their supreme talent at that time, an alternate reality where Dandridge wasn’t a driving force in Milwaukee’s championship effort doesn’t bear thinking about.

Yet Dandridge’s impact and Milwaukee’s foresight in selecting him is all the more impressive when you consider he was selected 45th in the 1969 NBA Draft, making him a fourth round pick.

After Dandridge, only one other player, Steve Mix, selected that late in the 1969 Draft went on to make even a single All-Star Game.

Finding a four-time All-Star, two-time champion and an All-Defensive First Team caliber forward in the same class where they landed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a primary reason for why even a single banner hangs from the rafters of the Bucks’ arena to this day.
