Jason Terry

Jason Terry has grown into an incredibly popular figure in Milwaukee due to his effusive personality, and his continually surprising ability to contribute deep into his career.

Terry has made no secret of his intentions to come back and play at least one more season in the NBA, while also stating his desire to continue with the Bucks. Speaking during exit interviews, Terry explained:

"“I know management, I’ve already had my discussions with them, and we’ll continue to talk throughout the summer. My intention is to come back here and finish it out here. I’m not saying it will be my final season, but I want to do 20 [seasons in the NBA] and then I’ll re-evaluate after that.”"

Of course, Terry’s relationship with management may not be enough. Much has been made of Terry’s connection to Jason Kidd, but the veteran also had a long-running relationship with Joe Prunty dating back to his days as an assistant in Dallas.

Terry is highly thought of around the league, and by no means is he a personality that it seems Mike Budenholzer will butt heads with. But will the new coach feel Terry’s veteran contributions are necessary?

As much as JET still had moments of effectiveness last season, there’s no denying that he dropped off significantly from the year prior. Another year older, is he worth a roster spot? Does this team still need veterans of that ilk? We’ll find out soon enough.

Likelihood to return: 4/10. If Terry returns, it will be late in free agency and after the Bucks have likely explored every option available to them via free agency and trade. That seeds significant doubt for the possibility of a JET return, but he has defied the odds to stay around this long and it would be unwise to put it past Terry to work his way back to his preferred destination in Milwaukee again.
