D.J. Wilson

After seldom seeing the floor throughout his rookie season last year, D.J. Wilson will surely be looking to seize the playing time that will be in store for him throughout this year’s Summer League.

The 17th overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft, Wilson’s budding NBA career stands as undefined as the stretch-four skill set that he seemingly brought to Milwaukee after finishing up his three years at the University of Michigan.

When Wilson wasn’t relegated to celebrating on the bench with the parent club, whether both active or inactive, Wilson experienced a string of assignments up to Oshkosh playing for the Herd throughout the year.

Wilson posted 15.9 points on shooting splits of .471/.340/1.000, along with 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in his 11 appearances with the Herd, all of them coming as starts.

Considering all the questions surrounding the Bucks’ forward depth, Wilson taking part in his second straight Summer League may be the launching pad he needs to gradually ease his way into the team’s rotation. If not, conclusions will surely be made from wide swaths of Bucks fans if he can’t keep his head above water throughout his time in Vegas.
