
Composure and control
Although the process of Summer League is more important than the results — not that I’m certain everyone in the organization will necessarily feel that way — the Bucks could certainly benefit from having a tighter handle on their execution against the Nuggets.
In many ways, Milwaukee played significantly better in their loss to Dallas than they did in their blowout win over Detroit, but one of the most significant differences between those games was the Bucks’ ability to eliminate errors.
After an exceptional sharpshooting first half, the Bucks’ shot selection was much more ill-advised in the second half of Sunday’s loss, coinciding with a game where they turned the ball over with great frequency.
Following a very tidy 12-turnover outing by Summer League standards on Friday, the Bucks coughed up possession 17 times on Sunday and did so in bursts which fueled Dallas runs, initially allowing them to stay close and ultimately seize the lead.
It seems guaranteed that Jenkins and his staff will be focusing on a performance with greater control on Monday night, and if the Bucks can deliver it, they might just pick up a win over the Nuggets to enter tournament play at 2-1.
