A bounce back night for D.J.

After a rather unremarkable outing last time out, second-year forward D.J. Wilson crafted a nice bounce back performance in the Bucks’ loss to the Nuggets Monday night.

Getting the Bucks on the board with a nice swooping lay up from behind the rack, Wilson remained relatively quiet throughout the first half, aside from knocking down a three-pointer and altering/blocking a couple of shot attempts at the basket.

That was the case until he punctuated the Bucks’ first half by knocking down his second trey on the night and put home a nice, untouched putback slam to give his team a one-point lead going into the break.

Much like he did to start the night, Wilson put home a tough finish to garner an and-one to get the Bucks going in the second half.

While he didn’t have much of an influence on the second half aside from draining a couple of timely shots and occasionally doing the dirty work down low to keep possessions alive, Wilson’s night ended with an unfortunate turnover that was scooped up by Nuggets guard Monte Morris that put the final nail in the Bucks’ proverbial coffin for the night.

All in all, Wilson put up 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field (3-for-7 from downtown), six rebounds, three assists as well as three turnovers, a block and was a -4 in his 29 minutes of action.

Now with three games in the books, Wilson has put together a respectable, albeit ordinary performance in his second Summer League venture of his career. With at least two more games left, we shall see how he adds to that in what is left of the Bucks’ time in Las Vegas.
