Milwaukee Bucks Summer League Preview: July 12 vs San Antonio Spurs

Eliminating third quarter slumps
The Bucks enter competition play in Las Vegas with a positive point differential, in spite of their losing 1-2 record. That was obviously boosted by a blowout win over the Pistons in their Summer League opener, but it also stands as a testament to Milwaukee’s competitiveness throughout their three games so far.
The Bucks’ three-point loss to Dallas and seven-point loss to Denver both represent missed opportunities, though.
On both occasions, Milwaukee produced spells of play where it looked like they were in control of the game, or at least on the verge of seizing control, only to break down in an untimely manner across all areas of their game.
The third quarter has stood out as one of the most notable spans for those issues so far, as the Bucks have generally come out of halftime struggling to shoot, turning the ball over and switching off defensively.
It’s Summer League, and there are guaranteed to be spells of the game when the level of play slips, but if the Bucks want to advance on Thursday night, they’ll need to get a tighter handle on some of the sloppiness that has been evident up to this point.
