Milwaukee Bucks fall to Philadelphia 76ers in Summer League heartbreaker

A look at D.J. and Sterling’s nights

For both of the Bucks’ second year players, that being D.J. Wilson and Sterling Brown, their respective Summer League finales came with mixed results.

Starting with Brown, the swingman finished with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field (2-for-6 from long range), eight rebounds, three assists as well as three turnovers and was a +4 in his 30 minutes.

As has been the case when given a greater opportunity to have the ball in his hands, Brown was more natural with creating scoring opportunities for himself, primarily driving to the basket down the lane. That said, he certainly showed better effectiveness putting home his driving attempts than in earlier Summer League performances.

Per usual, though, Brown looked to make contributions in other areas of the game and displayed the hustle and no nonsense mentality that he often displays, despite what he may be offering on the offensive end.

Switching over to Wilson, the Michigan product came away with his worst performance of this Summer League by putting up six points on 2-of-9 shooting from the field (0-for-4 from beyond the arc), three rebounds, two assists, one block as well as one turnover and was a -4 in 26 minutes.

While there were certainly moments to be encouraged by, which came more so in the fourth quarter before the Bucks’ collapse, Wilson mostly looked like a deer in headlights (pun absolutely intended) for much of the night.
