Eric Bledsoe

It’s not only the role players that can improve, and as such, some of Milwaukee’s most notable players will also be hoping to make significant strides in 2018-19.

Eric Bledsoe had a very disappointing playoff series against the Boston Celtics. In the regular season, especially in the second half, he showed many positive signs in terms of what he can bring offensively, averaging over 19 points and six assists per game on over 50 percent shooting. Defensively, Bledsoe is a good on-ball defender, but he often has struggles off ball (like the entire Bucks’ team last season).

What Bledsoe has to improve is his decision making on offense, as he often has some bad turnovers (his TO ratio among guards with over 20 percent usage is not ideal). Any jump in his three-point shooting would also be significant, while there’s also room for growth in his awareness and his motor defensively.

An important note is that with the additions of Ersan Ilyasova and Brook Lopez plus an improved offensive scheme, the spacing and the screen-setting for Bledsoe should be much better this season, allowing his skill-set to become more effective as he is primarily a driver.

Heading into free agency next summer, Bledsoe likely needs a big season if he’d like his long-term future to be in Milwaukee.
