Khris Middleton

NBA 2K19 Rating: 84 (Previously: 84)

Despite Middleton absolutely scorching the Boston Celtics in last year’s playoffs, Middleton comes into 2K19 with the same rating he ended with in 2K18. Interesting.

The rating itself isn’t necessarily what I have a problem with, 84 is pretty respectable, it’s the context. At 84, Middleton is tied for the 10th best rating among shooting guards with…Jaylen Brown? Really?

Listen, Brown is good, no doubt. But he averaged 14.5 points per game last year. Middleton averaged 20.1 points per game and balled out against Brown and the Celtics in the playoffs for 24.7 points per game on 59 percent (!) shooting from deep.

I know one playoff series isn’t everything, but did anyone watch that and not think Middleton was the best player on the court not named Giannis? Brown may end up being better than Middleton down the road, but not this year. Either bump Brown down or bump Middleton’s up, this isn’t right.

Verdict: Foul
