Connaughton on getting to know his new teammates thanks to their offseason meet-ups
"“In Portland, we did it the three years I was there and it made a real difference throughout the year. I think on what we’ve done here, it’s been great to get to know the guys. Obviously, I’m new, so it’s helped me out a lot, probably moreso than a lot of the guys who’ve been here. But to play with them and learn the differences in their games, and them to learn mine, to learn from the coaches and to hear what the coaches want and kind of get a headstart on training camp, I think is great for anybody. It hasn’t been too much, it hasn’t been like we’ve been tired or fatigued, it’s been the right amount of work.”"
Connaughton on why he wanted to come to Milwaukee:
"“I think a mixture of Coach Bud, the coaching staff, the style of play they like to have both offensively and defensively, spreading the floor, as well as playing with the guys who are here. Guys like Tony [Snell] and Malcolm [Brogdon], and Giannis [Antetokounmpo], Khris [Middleton] Bled[soe], all of them really, I could go down the list. Just being on a team that’s hungry to win, hungry to get deeper into the playoffs. I was fortunate to be on a playoff team the last three years, one year we made it to the second round, the other years we got stopped in the first round, so that same type of mentality to grow as a unit together.”"
