Launching more looks from deep
This goes hand in hand with his consistency in this department, but Snell’s three-point usage will have to climb back to the level of his first year with the Bucks.
Case in point, Snell’s three-point attempts dropped from 355 during the 16-17 season to 268 for last season. There are reasons for why that was the case as the California native appeared in fewer games (five, to be exact) than the previous year, logged less minutes and as noted before, displayed spells of second guessing quality shots from that level of the floor.
Given how it’s his primary function within the Bucks’ offensive system, Snell will have to regain his sharpshooting mentality and maintain it through thick and thin unlike last year.
Having a coach like Budenholzer, who is rightly putting a priority on spacing the floor in order to boost the Bucks’ three-point shooting capabilities at the outset of this year’s training camp, will certainly help Snell in giving him a boost, both in confidence and drawing up a wide range of efficient looks.
But as much as that looks to be the case, it’s on Snell to perform up to what’s asked of him by his coaches as well as his teammates.
