Staying healthy over the entire year

This may seem like a stretch and/or a strange way to lead this off, but after the kind of season Dellavedova endured last year, it may be the most pertinent.

After all, Delly only made 38 appearances during the regular season after first dealing with tendinitis in his left knee throughout the end of November and into December and then suffering a severely sprained ankle during an early February tilt against the Brooklyn Nets.

The latter injury sidelined the 27-year-old for a little over two months before he returned in time for the Bucks’ regular season finale and first round series against the Boston Celtics in last season’s playoffs, of which he made at least a cameo in all but one game during the series.

During the Bucks’ Media Day held early last week, Dellavedova shed light on how challenging it was to overcome those two injury setbacks and how he approached rebuilding his body and strengthening his ankle this summer:

"“It was definitely tough last year dealing with those injuries that I’ve never had to deal with in the NBA. It was obviously very frustrating, but obviously it was very challenging to just try and get better, improve, and make it back by the playoffs. So I’ve spent the whole summer working on my body, rehabbing my ankle and knee, and I’m feeling really good and ready to get started.”"

Despite his offseason regime to build up his fitness, following Dellavedova’s durability will be something to keep an eye on over the course of what will be a long regular season and hopefully, postseason run.
