Relish as a starter

All indications throughout training camp, and in the few preseason games the Bucks have played as of this writing, point to Brogdon rounding out the team’s starting lineup at the 2-guard spot entering the season.

Having vaulted himself into becoming the Bucks’ starting point guard in the second half of his rookie year until the arrival of Eric Bledsoe a few weeks into the 2017-18 season, Brogdon holds plenty of familiarity with making an impact in a starting capacity, or any role for that matter.

The same goes for sharing the floor alongside Bledsoe and while that pairing has room for improvement in terms of it being a net positive, considering they logged a -3.0 net rating in 608 minutes last year, Brogdon’s blend of versatile talents and attributes has the potential to play well off of Bledsoe all under Budenholzer’s system.

Of course, the same rings true for sharing the floor next to the likes of Antetokounmpo and Middleton and inserting Brogdon in place of long-time starting 2-guard Tony Snell could be the necessary adjustment to fuel the overhaul the Bucks are looking to make offensively.

Time will only tell if that will be the case, but Brogdon already has a history of making things run smoothly when matched alongside the Bucks’ top players and hopefully that will continue into the year.
