Milwaukee Bucks: 5 goals for Eric Bledsoe in 2018-19 season
Maintain success finishing at the basket
While plenty of attention was cast on how well he could supplement or aid Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s talents by spacing the floor effectively, Bledsoe’s scoring expertise shined the brightest when he set his sights on attacking the basket.
In crafting the most efficient season of his career, the former Kentucky Wildcat’s finishing at the rim was near to the level of the superstar he often shared the floor with. Per Basketball-Reference.com, Bledsoe put home 69.9 percent of his 316 attempts from within 0-3 feet of the cup.
With that element fueling his scoring output, which topped out at 17.8 points per game, Bledsoe helped round out the productive offensive trio of himself, Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton that carried the Bucks throughout the regular season.
There’s no question that Budenholzer will exploit Bledsoe’s skill level in that regard in a similar manner to Antetokounmpo’s as it relates to building up their offensive system to its maximum capabilities.
And with the gravity and respect Bledsoe’s teammates will command from opposing teams, we may end up seeing him use that to his full advantage in the times Bledsoe can generate scoring opportunities off the ball as well.
