Wisconsin Herd: Meeting the 2018-19 opening night roster
Brandon McCoy
A one-and-done player from UNLV, Brandon McCoy is looking to get his professional career off the ground while playing with the Herd this season.
After going undrafted in this year’s draft, the Bucks were quick to pick up McCoy by signing him to a deal on the night of the draft ahead of this year’s Summer League.
Despite the intent his addition looked to be made with from our collective vantage point, McCoy only logged more than 13 minutes of playing time in the two appearances during the Bucks’ Summer League run in Las Vegas this year. Now after briefly latching on with the New Orleans Pelicans for this year’s preseason, McCoy joins the Herd as an affiliate player.
On a roster that looks more positionless to match the pace and space that is prevalent throughout the G League and in the NBA, a player of McCoy’s physical stature (7’1,” 250 lbs.) and throwback tendencies stands out.
Add in being the youngest player on the Herd’s roster, and the adjustments McCoy will face during his first professional season will be plenty while with the Herd. Here’s hoping he can adapt to it all at a reasonable rate.
