Jaylen Morris

The second of the Bucks’ two-way players to start the season, Jaylen Morris is hoping to build on what was an incredibly successful first season on the professional level for him.

For those not aware of Morris’ story, the Buffalo native shot up the ranks from going to D-II school Molloy College, to being undrafted and struggling to field an offer from a team overseas last summer, which forced him to look towards the G League. After locking down an invite to last year’s G League player invitational, Morris was drafted by the Erie Bayhawks in the second round of last year’s G League draft.

From there, Morris’ multi-purpose services increasingly shined on the G League stage, leading to him landing a call up to the big leagues with the Atlanta Hawks to play under current Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer to finish out the last month-plus of the regular season last year.

Despite locking down a deal to play with Italian club Fiat Torino to play under famed head coach Larry Brown in the middle of July this year, Morris quickly exercised the NBA out in his deal to come join the Bucks in a two-way capacity.

Morris’ sudden rise from overlooked prospect to being an NBA player in less than a year feels like something straight out of a Hollywood script. Now Morris is determined to making his entry into the league a long lasting one and hopefully working on his craft while with the Herd will go a long way to accomplishing that marker.
