Back to basics

Following their first defeat of the season on Thursday night, it’s important that the Bucks refocus and remember what fueled their outstanding 7-0 start to begin with.

As Mike Budenholzer continues to work hard to get his team to buy in and adjust to his philosophy and scheme, he’ll undoubtedly be stressing the importance of his team not slipping back into old habits at the first sign of adversity.

In fact, as Eric Nehm of The Athletic shared, in light of questions over adjustments following the loss to Boston, Coach Budenholzer explained that at this early juncture of the season his team remains focused on perfecting the basics.

That will certainly be a worthwhile approach to carry into Sunday afternoon’s game with Sacramento, where uncharacteristic totals of nine made three-pointers, 20 assists and 45 rebounds from the loss in Boston will all look to be improved upon.

Even with the Kings coming into the matchup in excellent form, the Bucks’ far superior talent means their sole focus should be on taking care of their own game, and knowing the result will likely follow suit.
