For all the deserved talk about the Bucks and the Warriors being two of the more three-point happy teams around the league to open up the season, the two teams’ collective perimeter offense took a backseat on Thursday night.

Instead, it was the Bucks’ ability to score at will in the heart of the Warriors’ defense that proved to be the biggest difference on the night as Milwaukee outscored the back-to-back NBA champions 84-34.

The Bucks’ points in the paint total stands as the highest amount of points the Warriors have allowed in a single game during Steve Kerr‘s reign as Grant Liffmann of NBC Sports Bay Area noted after the game.

Sure, that’s certainly where Draymond Green‘s absence looms large on this game, but the Bucks’ collective efforts influenced their gaudy margin beyond Antetokounmpo and Bledsoe’s headlining play in this regard.

The sixth man-like outing wing Pat Connaughton put in shined in this sense as the bulk of his 15 points came off of him cutting off the baseline and putting down deft, crafty finishes at the basket instead of his long distance marksmanship stealing the show.

And the fact that the Bucks tallied a season-high 33 assists on their 52 made field goals also reinforces how willing and decisive the Bucks were in finding holes in the Dubs’ defense possession after possession for some stretches.
