Freaky Friday

Despite the Bucks’ struggles, it was still Freaky Friday in Milwaukee for the Greek Freak in a bounce-back game of sorts from his relatively quiet, 15-point performance against the Pistons on Wednesday night.

Despite having to battle through the Warriors’ frequent double teams and a packed paint, Giannis still managed to put up 22 points on an efficient 8-of-13 from the field. He also added 15 boards, five assists, two steals and two blocks to his usually stuffed stat sheet.

Due to frequent double teams, Giannis passed out to open teammates often, but the ball failed to find the bottom of the net on most occasions, hampering the Bucks’ offense significantly.

Consequently, Giannis attempted a mere 13 field goals in the game in favor of getting his open teammates involved. The shots simply weren’t falling Friday night.

He experienced some of his usual trouble running into charges on his way to the hoop and committed four turnovers on the night, but the nature of his style of play inevitably leads to some of those calls going against him on a nightly basis. The fact that charges are dead-ball turnovers make it slightly easier to swallow, knowing that the other team can’t get out and run in transition from them.

All in all, it was another great performance from Antetokounmpo that kept the game as close as it was for the Bucks.
