Peak Greek

In the midst of playing his best stretch of basketball so far this season, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo put in an MVP-like performance to power his team throughout last night’s win.

Playing just over 33 minutes of action, Antetokounmpo finished with a game-high 30 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field (1-of-3 from three, 13-of-17 from the foul line), eight rebounds, five assists, four turnovers, three blocks and was a +14 on the night.

While his running mate, that being Khris Middleton, led the charge for the Bucks throughout the first half, Antetokounmpo’s well-rounded contributions were steady throughout that span.

But it was in the second half when the two-time All-Star’s play took center stage as he turned things up to 11 while non-Giannis Bucks struggled to find their footing coming out of the halftime break.

Giannis was simply unstoppable putting in a variety of moves on his way to the basket, which in turn gave him more trips to the free throw line to boost his highly efficient scoring. All of that gave him 19 points in the second half and it often came with the Bucks in desperate need of a scoring spark as the Celtics aimed to get within range of the Bucks.

With another sterling performance under his belt, Giannis’ play during this four-game winning streak has been flat out remarkable.

Yeah, that certainly won’t quiet the deserved MVP consideration for the 24-year-old and face of the Bucks franchise.
