D.J. Wilson

D.J. Wilson came out of nowhere in the last couple of weeks after Ilyasova went down with an injury. With the four slot suddenly quite thin behind Giannis Antetokounmpo, Wilson got his chance early in a game against the Detroit Pistons when Giannis picked up a few quick fouls.

Tasked with guarding Blake Griffin for most of the game, Wilson shined defensively and has continued to do so as a regular part of the rotation since. He currently has the fifth-highest net rating on the team of players who play regular minutes.

Similar to Brown, the sample size is still small, but he has done a lot of the little things both offensively and defensively to make an impact whenever he’s on the court. Here, I made a video thread to analyze a series of plays made by Wilson from the recent game against the Brooklyn Nets.

As you can see, Wilson’s recent play should be a cause for great excitement in Milwaukee. If he can continue to excel as a small-ball five, Milwaukee will be an even scarier team to face in the playoffs.

Resolution: Continue being Milwaukee’s ultimate, secret weapon.
