Malcolm Brogdon

Malcolm Brogdon has had a phenomenal season shooting the basketball.

There is currently only one player in the NBA who has played at least 10 games and remains a member of the 50-40-90 Club (FG%-3P%-FT%). That player is Malcolm Brogdon, who is shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 44.2 percent from three, and 98.2 percent from the free throw line.

He’s also averaging career-highs in points, rebounds, and true shooting percentage.

That being said, Brogdon owns one of the worst defensive ratings on the team and an offensive rating that is not nearly as high as it should be with those shooting splits.

Some of Brogdon’s defensive struggles can be attributed to his inability to effectively fight through screens in Budenholzer’s new defensive scheme and keep up laterally with some of the league’s best guards.

His offensive struggles, which have lessened recently, are more of a combination of his tendency to dribble the ball too much and his bouts of tunnel vision where he fails to pass to open teammates.

Resolution: Move the ball more within the offense and pick and choose times to drive.
