Rebounding extremes

In many ways, the Bucks and Grizzlies find themselves as polar opposites in the NBA coming into Wednesday’s game. In particular, one of the areas where they’re most different is on the boards.

While the Bucks have turned their rebounding performance around this season to pace the NBA on the glass, the Grizzlies are rooted firmly to the bottom of the league’s rebounding rankings as they move into the second half of the season.

To be exact, while Milwaukee averages 49.1 rebounds per game, Memphis lags behind all-comers at 39.9 rebounds per contest, making them the only team in the NBA to fall below that 40-rebound threshold on a nightly basis.

Considering the Grizzlies also attempt 11.4 fewer three-pointers per game than the Bucks, all signs point to Memphis being at a major disadvantage on all fronts. If the Grizzlies can’t find a way to bridge the distance between them and the Bucks on the boards, it’s tough to imagine how they’ll keep afloat in other departments.
