Sixers’ bumps and bruises

While the Bucks have been off since Monday night, the Sixers have been in the midst of a three-game road trip in recent days.

That culminated on Wednesday night in a visit to Atlanta, where the 76ers lost to the Hawks for the second time in two weeks. Having lost to the Mavericks to start the week too, it’s fair to say the timing of this game isn’t ideal for Philadelphia.

Not that the Bucks will have any sympathy with their current injury woes, but the Sixers may well be feeling a little beat up following that game in Atlanta too.

On the second night of a back-to-back, against a rested team, this game may well have caused the Sixers problems anyway. But the events of Wednesday night’s game certainly didn’t make things any easier.

The one piece of good news for the 76ers is they’ll be reunited with Joel Embiid on their return home, after he sat out recent games due to load management. The Sixers superstar should return to the lineup on Thursday night, although it’s worth monitoring whether the back soreness that made Jimmy Butler a doubt on Wednesday will prevent him from joining him.
