Hold on, we’re going home

Having already suffered through a brutal fourth quarter collapse in Game 1 and a wire-to-wire blowout last time out for Game 2, all eyes are on how the Raptors will respond now that series has switched over to their neck of the woods.

The concerns many had regarding Toronto heading into the series, whether it was their thin depth, their uneven supporting cast beyond superstar Kawhi Leonard or their shakiness on the defensive boards, have all come to the forefront over the first two games of the series.

Of course, full credit goes to the Bucks for exploiting the increasing weaknesses the Raptors have shown throughout the postseason run and it’s only driven home the fact that while Toronto is an excellent team in their own right, Milwaukee has been in a class of their own all throughout the season.

Now the question of whether the Raptors will make significant adjustments heading into Game 3 has been a popular topic. Head coach Nick Nurse spoke on that directly in relation to potentially making a change to the team’s starting lineup as The Athletic’s Blake Murphy reported on Saturday afternoon.

Regardless if Nurse ends up going in that direction, the Raptors’ problems are more wholesale than just making a change to the lineup that sets the tone for the game.

Maybe playing on their home floor leads to the Raptors playing far more comfortable than they have looked in the last six quarters of the series, but massive improvements are needed to stem the tide and not let the series completely disappear out of range. That is, if it hasn’t already.
