Fresh off a national championship win with Virginia, Ty Jerome will enter the NBA Draft as one of the most intriguing guards outside of the lottery.

After opening up our draft profiles for the season with Villanova’s Eric Paschall, and making note of how he falls in line with many of the elements the Bucks have opted for in recent draft picks, now it’s time for a closer look at Ty Jerome, who is another player who fits that bill.

Jerome will enter the NBA fresh off of a national championship winning season, much like Donte DiVincenzo did last year. And much like Malcolm Brogdon did before that, he’ll also turn pro as a combo guard with a great feel for the game, having thrived under Tony Bennett‘s guidance in spite of question marks over his athleticism

Having just completed his junior season at Virginia, Jerome will also enter the pro ranks having recently earned All-ACC Second Team honors to go along with his national championship victory.

Over the course of three years at the program, Jerome developed into one of the Cavaliers’ key cogs and rounded out his game in impressive fashion at an individual level.

Having flown under the radar during the recruitment process, Jerome had to work harder than many to reach this point, prompting Bennett to remark:

"“Sometimes you have to trust your gut. If guys are mentally tough and have courage and heart, maybe in certain areas they’re lacking … a minimal level of athleticism or whatever it is. There’s something in [Jerome] that is just so special.”"

With that introduction to Jerome’s journey out of the way, let’s move on to analyzing the individual aspects of his game, before examining his current draft stock, and how he’d potentially fit with the Bucks.
