Fit with the Bucks

I’m not sure if there’s an NBA team that couldn’t somehow talk themselves into believing in Horton-Tucker as a prospect, and the Bucks are likely no exception to that.

As one of the youngest players in this year’s draft, and almost certainly the youngest college player widely slotted into a first round spot, Horton-Tucker has plenty of time to improve, develop and mature, and could prove to be a diamond in the rough if the right coaching staff gets their hands on him.

In that regard, Milwaukee has every reason to be confident in the development work they could do with the 18-year-old.

Zooming out, Horton-Tucker’s unusual frame and physical attributes do provide an element of appealing versatility. If Horton-Tucker’s game can be rounded out, a player who could almost naturally slot in at positions 1-4 would certainly be appealing.

Perhaps the biggest question, as to whether the Bucks would consider Horton-Tucker if he’s still on the board when it’s their turn to pick, comes down to his personality. Horton-Tucker wasn’t renowned for his consistent effort level in college, and there are certainly indications that his attitude may differ from the rest of Milwaukee’s squad.

There’s every chance that Horton-Tucker won’t fall all the way to No. 30 to place the Bucks in such a conundrum, but if he does, it will certainly make for an interesting decision for Jon Horst and Co.
