Weaknesses

Of course, the questions surrounding Porter’s health are on the minds of many, if not all, scouts and front office decision makers around the league, especially as the draft inches ever closer.

At this rate, any analysis or projection of how Porter’s game will stand on the next level comes with the caveat of ‘when healthy.’ And the multiple concerns teams had in regards to Porter’s frame and conditioning during last year’s pre-draft process only complicate matters further, as does the fact that Porter’s older brother Michael has also been mired with serious injury concerns as well.

Aside from that very massive, prevalent question surrounding him, Porter’s physical tools and athletic deficiencies is another hot topic, especially in the long road he’s currently on to recovery. They certainly have shown in Porter’s defensive services as the Missouri native struggles to protect the rim and doesn’t possess enough mobility to defend in space adequately.

Lastly, Porter’s strength when crashing the glass could stand to improve, especially considering the jump in physicality he’ll eventually see in the NBA. Again, when healthy.
