Milwaukee Bucks 2018-19 Season Review: George Hill
By Adam McGee
The worst of Hill
Any struggles that Hill had across the course of the season may well seem largely inconsequential now that we have the benefit of hindsight, and knowing that he came good for his team when it mattered most.
Still, it must be acknowledged that Hill struggled with his shooting this season.
A career 37.8 percent shooter from beyond the arc, Hill didn’t come close to approaching those heights for most of his time with the Bucks.
In the regular season, Hill made a miserable 27.8 percent of his three-point looks and was often ineffectual. In the postseason, Hill made 41.7 percent of his long-range efforts, and cemented himself as one of Milwaukee’s most consistently positive contributors.
In many ways, that typified the ups and downs that Hill experienced on the offensive end, as like many of his teammates, his success on a given night often came down to whether his shots were falling.
The Bucks, as a team, will have to wrestle with the make or miss elements of their final four games and that part of their overall identity. As an individual, Hill will likely be determined to put together a much more consistent shooting campaign from deep next year too.
