Strengths

For starters, the combination of Samanic’s size and athleticism stands out in a significant way.

Samanic puts those tools to good use with his strong instincts, whether in his ability to run the floor with ease following missed shots by opposing teams, looking to generate scoring chances by cutting off the ball and being a switchable defender by guarding virtually all five positions if needed.

The sound fundamentals Samanic possesses carries into his ability to play within the post and he already carries plenty of moves and tricks to keep his opponents on their toes between himself and the basket.

Additionally, Samanic is plenty skilled with the ball in his hands as he’s able to create shots by attacking closeouts and showcases plenty of explosion when leaping above the rim to throw down smooth, ferocious dunks (side note: Samanic did win a slam dunk contest that was held during the Euroleague Final Four two seasons ago).

Lastly, Samanic’s defensive anticipation is already strong and his ability to be one step ahead of the opposing team leads to him snuffing out developing plays and/or infiltrate passing lanes routinely.
