Weaknesses

Many of the concerns about Johnson surround his frame, athleticism and overall durability.

The root of that stems from the serious injuries Johnson suffered throughout his collegiate career after having torn his meniscus and undergoing an arthroscopic procedure to repair his hip as well as a torn labrum, all of which limited his freshman and redshirt junior seasons, respectively.

Those red flags notwithstanding, Johnson lacks considerable strength and his overall physicality is a significant concern in terms of projecting his physical development and forward versatility.

Despite his great size and solid physical tools, Johnson’s subpar athleticism and explosion affects his ability to finish at the cup and creating shots off the dribble when contested.

And those same athletic concerns spark questions about how effective the Pennsylvania native will be when tasked with defending far more athletic wings or guards on the next level.
