The worst of Colson

Despite it standing as a strongsuit early on in his two-way stint with the Herd, Colson’s inconsistencies from beyond the arc gradually came into focus leading into the final few weeks of his rookie campaign.

Colson finished out the year hitting 28.8 percent of his 111 three-point attempts when with the Herd and he didn’t fare any better in the limited minutes he saw with the Bucks at the end of the season (Colson went 5-of-21 from three when up with the Bucks, a 23.8 percent clip).

Another point of emphasis as it relates to where Colson could improve in his scoring is getting to the free throw line with more frequency. Colson only managed to get to the charity stripe on 44 occasions while with the Herd and he connected on 34 of those attempts, giving him a 77.3 free throw percentage.

Of course, that requires Colson to improve on his body and start to shed some of his finesse tendencies to embrace absorbing more contact from opponents.

But it certainly would help him improve his standing and open up more opportunities to operate as a small ball 4 and potentially even a small ball center for stretches, which was something Colson grew adept at playing on the collegiate level.
