Game of the season

After having wrapped up the best record and the one-seed in their penultimate game of the season, the Bucks took the long view when preparing for their lengthy playoff run.

With all but Khris Middleton in action from the regular group of starters, the opportunity opened up for Colson to receive the second of his two spot starts in the Bucks’ regular season finale loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder back on April 10.

Colson’s three-point touch was pretty inconsistent throughout the night, but he still managed to hit a few triples, all of them coming off spot up situations and even one coming on a rare four-point play.

Instead, the New Bedford native enjoyed plenty of success inside the arc, throwing down multiple high-energy dunking finishes that were far from contested by the Thunder’s defense. Rounding out his scoring was Colson garnering a couple of trips to the free throw line.

While it was certainly a loose, up and down game, Colson did manage to get his hands on some turnovers that helped the Bucks get out on the break, though they did little to capitalize on those few Thunder miscues.

Playing nearly 45 minutes of action, Colson posted a career-high 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field (3-of-9 from deep), 10 rebounds, three steals, two turnovers and was a -11 in the loss.
