Strengths

Coming in at a little over 6’10” and 237 lbs, as well as boasting a 7’3″ wingspan, Fernando possess the necessary length, size and strength to withstand the physicality at the center position in today’s NBA.

Along with that, Fernando’s athleticism is simply pouring out of him and he regularly showcases it by exploding above the rim to throw down rim rattling dunks, sending away shot attempts at the rim or getting up and down the floor with ease. More importantly, Fernando is not one for lacking in energy and intensity in that regard and his willingness to bang on the boards on both ends of the floor routinely.

The current state of Fernando’s skill package is also plenty appealing. When not looking to terrorize rims on either basket, Fernando is an adequate finisher with both hands and he converted 72.4 percent of his 167 attempts within the restricted area, per Will Shreefer’s shot chart tool at The Stepien.

Fernando’s budding ability to handle the ball for either short drives in the paint or generate scoring opportunities for others stands as a tertiary weapon in his overall bag of tricks.

Lastly, the Angolan’s rim protection, while it stands on the raw side, stands strong, thanks to his advantageous physical tools and athleticism.
