Fit with the Bucks

Having drafted wings in the last two years in the form of Sterling Brown and Donte DiVincenzo, and with Milwaukee’s intent likely to be re-signing Malcolm Brogdon and Khris Middleton, the Bucks aren’t exactly short of options on the wing.

Beyond those four, Pat Connaughton will also be returning next season, while although the Bucks may well like to get off of Tony Snell‘s contract, he’s currently slated to return too.

Combined, the Bucks are stacked in terms of wing options, meaning it’s not the most obvious position they could look to target with the 30th overall pick.

With that in mind, Terence Davis may not make for the most obvious fit, but if there is a position in the modern NBA where teams will happily be overloaded with options it is on the wing.

In terms of personality and mindset, Davis would fit right in Milwaukee. His enthusiasm to get out and run in transition, to lock in on defense first and foremost, and to chip in on the boards would all slot in smoothly in Milwaukee too.

The defining question for his potential as a Buck, and likely for his wider NBA future, is whether his senior year three-point improvements are real. If teams see enough in Davis’ shot to believe he can be at least an average distance shooter in the NBA, the rest of his skills are certainly useful.

That remains a big if, though, and may well make Davis a player teams will be more comfortable drafting in the second round.
