Weaknesses

The big question surrounding Roby as he makes the jump to the NBA revolves around his jump shot.

Roby has all the makings to be an adequate floor spacer and did so while in college. However, Roby’s three-point efficiency fluctuated wildly over each of his three seasons at Nebraska and he finished shooting 33.6 percent of his 164 three-point attempts over that span.

The former Cornhusker’s career 70.2 percent free throw efficiency stands as a somewhat optimistic point in that regard, but Roby’s shot is going to have to hold up under an increased volume and range from the floor most likely.

Moving on to other things, Roby’s physicality also stands as a big point of emphasis in his development, especially considering the jump in athleticism and size in the NBA.

That’s intrinsically tied to the confidence issues Roby has occasionally sported and it rears its ugly head often when he’s contested at the rim by defenders (Roby converted 60.5 percent of his 157 attempts in the restricted area this year, per Will Schreefer’s shot chart tool at The Stepien).
