Weaknesses
While Edwards will be tasked with providing a scoring punch and to space the floor, the rest of his offensive game is lacking the same level of prowess he shows scoring the ball.
That certainly speaks to his rather deficient playmaking abilities and overall distribution and in his last year with the Boilermakers, Edwards tallied a 0.92 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Aside from his current passing shortcomings, Edwards’ undersized stature (6’0″) will surely be a problem at the next level defensively (though, it should be noted that he does possess a 6’6″ wingspan). His focus and recognition on that end of the floor also stands as a concern as well.
Lastly, as shifty as Edwards is in terms of being able to get separation for his shot, he lacks plenty of bounce, which really hurts him when looking to finish at the cup. Per Will Schreefer’s shot chart tool at The Stepien, Edwards converted 50 percent of his 182 attempts within the restricted area this season in West Lafayette.
