Luguentz Dort

When considering potential fit with the Bucks, Dort’s shooting struggles make him an instantly problematic prospect from a Milwaukee perspective. On the whole, it’s entirely valid to question if Dort can develop into a player with any kind of above average offensive impact in the NBA.

Having said that, there are clear and obvious reasons as to why the Bucks, or any team, may be persuaded to buy into the Arizona State freshman’s potential.

Dort has just turned 20 but already presents all the signs of becoming a very good defender. Physically, his strength and athleticism combine to offer up a sense of readiness when it comes to the challenge of guarding pros, while he also demonstrated a real nose for the ball during his time as a Sun Devil.

Perhaps most importantly of all, Dort brings an intensity and determination when he steps on the floor that point to a player willing to do what it takes to help his team to win. If he takes that positive attitude to practice in an NBA setting, maybe there’s currently unseen offensive potential that can be coached out of Dort. Character matters to the Bucks, and there’s plenty to like about Dort’s approach on that front.
