Milwaukee Bucks: 5 forwards to target in free agency
By Adam McGee
Luc Mbah a Moute
Lastly, we get to another former Buck, although one who has been away even longer than Dudley. Luc Mbah a Moute last played for Milwaukee in 2013 and has experienced more than his fair share of NBA ups and downs in the time since.
Last season was undoubtedly the nadir for the Cameroonian forward, though, as injury robbed him of close to the entire year.
Mbah a Moute played just four games after returning to the Clippers on a one-year deal, as what seemed like an innocuous knee injury ultimately led to a much lengthier spell on the sidelines. Season ending surgery followed in late March, which will have allowed Mbah a Moute to get back to full speed by now and hopefully get a full, healthy offseason in ahead of next year.
Essentially striking this season from the record, the case for Mbah a Moute in free agency will be built on the player he’s become as his career has progressed.
The 32-year-old has dramatically improved as a shooter, averaging 37.4 percent over the course of his last two full seasons. Adding that to his always reliable defense, and some of the funkier elements of his game that have always brought versatility to the fore mean he can still be a very useful role player at this point in his NBA career.
The Prince returning would undoubtedly thrill sentimental Bucks fans who suffered through the mediocrity of the team in Mbah a Moute’s previous tenure, and it may well be an option as free agency progresses.
