Daulton Hommes

Reigning Division II Player of the Year, Daulton Hommes has blazed quite the path to make it to the Bucks’ Summer League roster.

Between being an undersized point guard and suffering successive ACL tears while in high school, Hommes didn’t garner much attention on the Division I level throughout the recruiting process. That left him to explore looks on the D-II level in his home state of Washington, which eventually led to him landing at Western Washington.

After getting back to full health, Hommes, sporting his new and improved body at 6’7″, made up for lost time and found his footing throughout his redshirt freshman year. Hommes continued to make significant steps during his sophomore season and Hommes decided to transfer to Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego at the end of the year.

It was last summer when Hommes gained plenty of notoriety working out with Boston Celtics swingman Gordon Hayward as he rehabilitated from his severe leg and ankle injury suffered on the opening night of the previous season.

The increased exposure only led to Hommes drumming up more interest and a standout redshirt junior season with the Sea Lions led to him being named the Division II Player of the Year. The 22-year-old averaged 21.8 points on .533/.470/.847, 5.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists over his 36 regular season appearances across 31.4 minutes per tilt.
