Searching for Sterling
Not all contributions and Bucks players have been rosy as their run in Las Vegas continues, with third-year wing Sterling Brown being the most prominent example.
With this being his third Summer League, Brown’s experience and advanced development gave way to relatively high expectations from Bucks fan circles, at least as high as Summer League expectations as can be.
Where Brown made strides as a driving slasher over the course of his sophomore season, the SMU alum has struggled acting as both a leading shot creator for himself and for others. That’s evidenced by the 25 percent field goal percentage he’s currently posting and the 0.62 assist-to-turnover ratio he’s sporting through the first two games (five assists and eight turnovers).
Brown’s perimeter shooting, more so in their Bucks’ win over the Hawks, has been one of the lone positives throughout his underwhelming run in Vegas and perhaps that may result in more off-ball opportunities for the 24-year-old rather than being a main focal point.
In any event, it would definitely be nice to see Brown bounce back after the opening two games and there will certainly be plenty of chances for him to do so in what remains of the Bucks’ time in Sin City.
You can catch the Bucks’ Summer League clash with the Timberwolves on ESPN 2 where it’s slated to tip off a 8 p.m. central time.
