Bryant making waves

Daulton Hommes had a red-hot outburst against the Sixers, Jock Landale has had his moments too, but after Monday’s game against the Timberwolves, there was no real question as to who the most impressive Bucks performer has been so far.

Elijah Bryant had been one of Milwaukee’s steadiest and most reliable performers across their opening two games, but he moved up into an entirely new gear on Monday against the Timberwolves.

In just 25 minutes of action, Bryant piled on 31 points, seven rebounds and two assists, while shooting an uber efficient 11-of-15 from the field and 5-of-7 from deep.

Following a standout season in Israel after going undrafted out of BYU last summer, Bryant has brought an impressive mix of skills to the Bucks’ Summer League roster, showcasing his ball-handling, shooting, defense, and the ability to put his head down and play with aggressiveness.

Perhaps most impressive of all is the sense of control and composure demonstrated by Bryant throughout Summer League so far. With averages of 14 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists on 55 percent shooting from the field so far, bigger opportunities may well lie ahead for Bryant and, according to Sportando, there are NBA teams now showing meaningful interest in his services.

Whether that ultimately cuts Bryant’s Summer League stay short remains to be seen but, of course, with open roster spots and a vacant two-way spot, who’s to say Milwaukee couldn’t be one of those teams too.
