Luke Maye
Next up is forward Luke Maye, who comes to the Bucks after going undrafted in this year’s draft.
Maye knows a thing or two about defying the odds as he put together a strong career at the University of North Carolina after initially making the team as a walk-on ahead of his freshman campaign. Eventually, the 22-year-old became a key cog within the Tar Heels’ foundation and he was named the ACC Most improved Player for his junior season after being a NCAA champion the previous year.
After not hearing his name called in this year’s draft, Maye found a home with the Bucks ahead of this year’s Summer League in Las Vegas. Despite that, Maye didn’t factor much by appearing in just three Summer League contests and he clearly struggled in the 13.6 minutes per game he logged over those games.
But the Bucks clearly see something in Maye after signing him to an Exhibit 10 deal and bringing him into training camp. Although he may have defied the odds once before, Maye will almost certainly be destined for the Herd, regardless of what he may accomplish during camp and preseason with the Bucks.
