Kyle Korver

Korver on choosing the Bucks:

"“The Bucks checked a lot of boxes for me. I think for me right now, and where I’m at in my life, and I’ve got a wife and three little kids, I had to find somewhere that was good for all of us. I think being here, and being with Coach Bud before and being a part of his culture, knowing what his teams are all about, that kind of fit me and fit my family. It’s good to be back in the midwest, closer to my folks. But then ultimately, I want to be on a good team. I want to be on a team that’s in a mix to win a championship, and I feel like watching these guys the last couple of years, watching them grow, seeing the pieces that they’ve added, it was exciting for me.”"

Korver on working with Giannis:

"“I think the first thing you do before you try to help anyone is build a relationship with them, and that’s the most important thing. I got to hang out with Giannis a little this summer and get to know him a little bit, and what a special guy. He’s just a humble person, such a hard worker, a competitor, and he’s a guy you like right away for a whole lot of reasons. I hope we can all help each other in some way, but we’ll see how that plays out as the season goes on.”"

Korver on deciding to continue playing:

"“I think last year was just a challenging year for me and my family, with where we started out, midseason trade, and I think we were just really tired. But I think when it comes down to it, I still love the game a lot and I still feel like I can play. Coming here felt like it was not just a good situation for me to come here and play, be on a good team, but also for my family to be in a good situation.”"

Korver on teaming up with Coach Bud again:

"“A lot is similar, but he’s definitely made some changes. It feels like, when [George Hill and I] were in Cleveland, you’d just try to create the right space for LeBron [James] to be amazing, and this feels like a more organized Cleveland to me. We all have a role, but we’re trying to get our big guy, our big dog. to eat, right? Like he’s going to be in the paint and we’re creating space for him. So it’s really exciting. When I was in Atlanta, we didn’t have a player like Giannis. We had a lot of really good pieces that fit together, but we were missing that guy. He’s what really makes this thing special, so I think Bud has evolved, he’s changed some things up. But really he’s kind of tailored a couple of things toward Giannis that makes us really hard to guard, and we’ve got shooting at all of these positions.”"
