Gotta clean it up

As we all know, preseason basketball doesn’t always lead to crisp execution, especially as players look to get back up to speed following a long offseason.

It’s safe to say that was the case for the Bucks as they piled up a high amount of miscues and lost the turnover battle with the Bulls as Milwaukee registered 24 turnovers on the night compared to the Bulls’ 11 errors.

Not only did the amount of turnovers open the door for the Bulls to stay within range of the Bucks throughout the night, the rebuilding squad did very well to capitalize on the Bucks’ mistakes, given the 36 points off turnovers they tallied (the Bucks, meanwhile, scored just eight points off of those 11 errors from the Bulls).

Obviously, the fact that many of the Bucks’ top playmakers and overall initiators were sitting on the sidelines loomed large over this aspect of their performance last night and the sloppy play comes with the territory.

But more sound decisions and better offensive execution will be a priority and preached by Coach Bud and his staff, just as it was this time last year when they were starting to get a handle on the team’s newly implemented system.
