Thanasis Antetokounmpo
It’s only natural that we start out looking at how the Bucks’ new additions will complement Antetokounmpo this season with someone the reigning MVP knows quite well, that being his older brother and newcomer, Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
The elder Antetokounmpo has returned to the NBA after signing a two-year, fully guaranteed deal with the Bucks over the offseason after playing overseas the last three seasons.
But even as the Greek forward has traveled the long road back to the NBA, that doesn’t mean questions over how he’ll try to stick in the rotation and in Milwaukee in general don’t exist, given the raw state of Antetokounmpo’s game, and the just two games of NBA experience under his belt.
That won’t be easily rectified, even with the chemistry that the two Antetokounmpo brothers have developed since both came into the sport during their humble beginnings and during international play. And it’ll be important for Thanasis to sport some meaningful improvements, such as hitting triples from the corner where he’ll most likely set up shop within the Bucks’ offense.
Getting reps alongside Giannis, too, will come few and far between initially for Thanasis and showcasing the hustle and high effort that has got him to where he is today will be crucial in garnering any and all playing time opportunities that could come his way on the NBA level this coming year.
